World-class musicians, stellar vocalists and strong writers are at the core of CTA, the band that brought Chicago’s founding member and legendary drummer, Danny Seraphine, out of his retirement in 2006.
Seraphine teamed up with guitarist Marc Bonilla of Ronnie Montrose, Edgar Winter, Sammy Hagar and Keith Emerson fame to craft the perfect band and Bonilla brought keyboardist Ed Roth (Annie Lennox, Keith Emerson and his own solo work) into the fold.
Seraphine enlisted Bill Champlin known for his critically acclaimed Sons of Champlin and Grammys for co-writing “After the Love is Gone” and “Turn Your Love Around” and his role in Chicago after Terry Kath’s untimely death.
Also providing lead vocals in CTA is actor/writer/producer and Grammy nominated Tony Grant. Grant’s good looks and soulful 1st tenor voice make him the perfect interpreter for Peter Cetera’s vocals.
Travis Davis who plays the bass and also sings lead has worked with such artists such as Richard Page, Kevin Cronin and Keith Emerson.
Davis helps provide the foundation along with Seraphine’s innovative drumming that propels the searing guitars, blazing horns and impassioned vocals as the band performs new arrangements of Chicago tunes as well as original material.
“Like the original CTA we have no weaknesses,” Serpahine says. “This band has it all.”
