Earl Turner is an entertainer in every sense of the word. From the cut of his well-tailor suits to the clarity of his voice, explosive dancing to soulful guitar playing, he has owned the spotlight in showrooms from the Las Vegas Strip all the way to the heart of New Orleans.

With roots in small-town Missouri, he played his first gig at an American Legion hall at age 13 and was touring with a Chicago show band called the Earl White Revue by the time he was 19. Fronting his own band from the early ’80s on, music took Earl to nightclubs and hotel-casino stages across the country, and one of his original dance tracks—“Love Caught You By Surprise”—hit the Top 40 charts in Europe.

Traveling the world as a headliner for Royal Caribbean International, Earl still takes time to perform in Las Vegas, where he dominated showrooms through the ’90s and starred in his own show at the Rio Hotel and Casino. “This man is the real deal, every time out,” raves award-winning Las Vegas Sun Editor at Large John Katsilometes, calling Earl “one of the truly amazing live performers in Las Vegas.”

In nearly 50 years in show business, Earl has shared the stage with musicians like Lou Rawls, Philip Bailey of Earth, Wind & Fire, Ron Tyson of The Temptations and Sonny Turner of The Platters, as well as powerhouse comedians like Bill Cosby and George Wallace. And he has cultivated a songbook covering popular artists ranging from Sam Cooke and Barry White to Justin Timberlake and Daft Punk. This is music that inspires and electrifies, and Earl gets to the core of it by pouring his soul out on stage every night, every note. That dedication landed him in the New Orleans Music Hall of Fame, in a city where he headlined in a showroom named for him at Harrah’s.

When he isn’t spending time with his wife Christine and other family and friends, he’s working on an album of original songs and favorite covers slated for release later this year. For anyone who attends his live shows, Earl has always had one essential objective:

“I want you to leave feeling good, with a smile on your face.”
